Keep your child's health records in one private place

Updated 15 October 2026

In short

Famileze gives each child a long-term health record on your iPhone: immunisations, appointments, illnesses, medications, growth, allergies and photos of documents, with notes you can type or dictate. It is encrypted on your phone before it leaves, and each record can be private to you or shared with your co-parent. It keeps records. It never gives medical advice.

Why keep it in one place?

There's a blue book, a folder of specialist letters, a vaccination card somewhere in your camera roll, and a note in your head about the last Panadol. When the GP or the school asks, the answer is scattered.

Famileze puts it on one screen, per child, in date order, and both parents can see the same record if you choose.

Famileze is a record-keeping tool, not medical advice. It records what you tell it and reads it back. It never tells you what to give, how much, or when. Always follow the packet, or ask a doctor or pharmacist.

How do I open Health?

  1. Tap the ☰ menu and choose Health.
  2. Along the top are chips for Family and each person. Tap a child's name to see only their records. No child yet? Tap + Add child.

Health covers the whole family, not only the children. You and your co-parent appear by name, so your own appointment or allergy has a home too.

How do I add an immunisation, appointment or illness?

  1. Tap Add record.
  2. Under Type, choose one: Immunisation, Appointment, Illness, Medication, Growth, Allergy, Milestone, Document or Other.
  3. Check For (who it's about) and the Date.
  4. Give it a Title, such as "6-week immunisations".
  5. Fill in the extra fields for that type:
    • Immunisation: Vaccine (for example "MMR") and, if you were given one, a Next due date.
    • Appointment: a Follow-up date, if there is one.
    • Allergy: a Severity of mild, moderate or severe.
    • Growth: Weight kg, Height cm and Head cm.
  6. Add Notes: what happened, what was said.
  7. Tap Save record.

Dates you enter under Next due or Follow-up date appear in a Coming up list at the top of Health. That list only shows dates you typed in yourself. Famileze doesn't work out a schedule and doesn't send alerts.

Can I dictate notes instead of typing?

Yes. Under Notes, tap Tap to dictate a note and speak; tap again to stop. Your words land in the box, ready to tidy before saving.

One honest detail: on iPhone, dictation uses Apple's speech recognition, and Apple may send the audio to its servers to turn it into text. Famileze never receives the audio. If you'd rather nothing left the phone, type the note instead.

How do I photograph a document?

On any record, under Photo of a document (optional), tap Add a photo. The camera opens, so you can photograph the immunisation card, a discharge summary or a referral letter, and it is attached to that record. Choose the Document type if the paper is the record itself.

Health photos are kept apart on purpose. If you save your photos and videos into the phone's camera roll, health record photos are left out, because a camera roll is easy to share by accident.

If you use the free Mac companion, you can also attach a PDF or other file to a health record there with Attach a photo or document. The phone then lists it by name.

How do I log a dose of medicine?

This is for the 3am question: "when did I last give it?"

  1. On Health, tap Log a dose.
  2. Choose For, then the Medicine (Panadol, Nurofen, Antibiotics and Antihistamine are offered, or type your own) and the Dose, for example "6 mL".
  3. Tap Log dose — now.

Recent doses shows the last dose of each medicine for each person, with how long ago it was given. It is a log of what you gave. It is not a dosing guide and it doesn't remind you to give anything.

Can I see my child's growth over time?

Yes. Add Growth records as you go. With one child selected, a Growth section shows their latest weight, height and head measurement, each with a small line showing the change. It shows your own measurements back to you, with no percentile charts and no verdicts.

Can health records stay private from my co-parent?

Yes. Every record has Who can see this, with two choices: Private to me and Share with co-parent. The badge on each record shows which it is, and tapping the badge switches it.

There is also a setting for each person, shown as Sharing for [name]. For a child, the starting point is Shared with co-parent, because a health picture split across two homes isn't much of a health picture. Your own records, and records filed under Family, start private. Change a child to Private to me and Famileze asks whether to move their existing records too.

A private record goes only to your own devices. Your co-parent's phone can't fetch it. If a record was shared and you later make it private, Famileze withdraws it from their device. As with anything shared, though, assume they may already have seen it.

Shared or private, every health record is encrypted on your phone before it leaves. We can't read it.

What it doesn't do

Questions parents ask

Is Famileze a medical app?

No. It is a private family archive with a health record section. It keeps records and reads them back. It never tells you what or how much to give.

Can both parents add to a child's health record?

Yes. Records you share with your co-parent appear on their phone, and records they share appear on yours. Anything marked Private to me is never shared with your co-parent.

Does it work without a connection?

Yes. The phone keeps its own copy, so you can look up a record offline. New records sync when you're back online.

Can I keep my own health records too?

Yes. Both parents appear by name under For, and an adult's records start private.

Who can read my child's health records?

Your family, on your devices. Records are encrypted on your phone before they leave, and we hold no key.
